My Sign Around Town
Maybe you’ve seen my sign out at a couple of houses downtown. Last week I visited a couple of projects to see what’s going on!
At one house, the kitchen was just completed the day before. The homeowners haven’t even moved it, and I could still smell the paint in the air from the installer’s finishing touches! Here is the dramatic new kitchen! Look at that island!
We helped the homeowner re-imagine how open the space could be, eliminating under-used cabinetry against the living room wall, allowing traffic to flow by getting rid of a peninsula, and reclaiming an un-used corner by eliminating a door (and adding a window):

At another house, the brickwork is moving along beautifully.
The homeowners chose a dramatic “wired brick” with mottled colors to closely match the original 1930s home:
The masons are doing a great job. It’s not often we can see such careful craftsmanship while it unfolds. You can see here the keying of the corner — locking in the brick bond as they turn the corner :
On the completed (rear) facade, you can see the common/flemish bond of the layout, matching the original house. Every sixth row, we have alternating header bricks (bricks turned on their end). See it?
